What is the difference between Webflow and WebWave?

First of all, the number of features available and the popularity of the system.WebFlow is a digital giant that conquers the markets, winning numerous awards and distinctions. Loved not only by small companies, it works perfectly as a website engine for medium-sized companies and corporations. It also has a specially tailored Webflow Enterprise offering, designed for enterprises.

Distinctions for Webflow on G2.com

Thanks to such a huge backend, when you decide on a website in Webflow, you can be sure that it will work smoothly, regardless of the traffic you load it with. And in addition, in the future it will be easier for you to find a specialist who will modify your existing site.

WebWave is currently used by about 550 thousand users, with Webflow 3.5 million customers Located in 190 countries.

What about WebWave? It is much smaller and is just beginning its developmental adventure. Most often we hear about it in Poland, because abroad it is just beginning (although there are ambitious expansion plans). Its indisputable advantage is constant updates. In 2022 alone, WebWave implemented 206 new features. In addition, there is a forum where the community can suggest new solutions to administrators, which are implemented after obtaining the right number of volunteers. However, this shows that WebWave - although it is expanding dynamically - is not a completely refined system.

It lacks some of the essential elements that are available in Webflow. But there is also the other side of the coin - areas where it is WebWave that towers over the giant.

Let's take a closer look at these differences.

Security

We mentioned it in the case of similarities. However, there is one important element that is worth paying attention to when comparing the two wizards. WebWave does not have the option of 2FA two-factor authentication when logging into an account. Today it is basically the standard among many smaller and larger applications. Not having this functionality significantly reduces the level of security of the system.

Integrations

Both Webflow and WebWave have a considerable set of integrations with external systems. In the case of Webflow, however, there may be problems with tools typically available on the Polish market. WebWave - due to its Warsaw origin - has no problem with this. You will quickly integrate a website or store with systems such as 1koszyk or znanylekarz.pl. New elements are also constantly appearing, such as integration with the accommodation booking system or accounting programs.

Webflow has a convenient integration with Zapier - a software that contains a set of more than 5000 applications with which you can connect your website for marketing or automation purposes. We can find here, among others, MailChimp, Google Ads or social media such as Instagram, LinkedIn or Pinterest.

In-store payments and deliveries

For payments, both Webflow and WebWave offer the same functionalities. We will find in them support for card payments, Apple and GooglePay, paypal, as well as Blik or Przelewy24.

The situation is somewhat different with deliveries in the store. While on WebWave we have the possibility to add the option of shipping by InPost or Orlen Parcel, in the case of the Webflow page we have to limit ourselves to international couriers, such as DHL or FedEx.

Number of Possibilities

WebWave allows you to create an effective yet simple website using interesting animations such as parallax or mouse click animations. Unfortunately, we will not find in this system many useful functions, found in Webflow, such as:

  • search engine on the site: only integration with the Google search engine is possible, which in the free version displays ads;
  • connection to Facebook Messenger Chat;
  • 3 level menu on the site;
  • adaptation of the site to visually impaired people.

help

Webflow has prepared for its customers a mass of tutorials and a help center with the most popular problems. Plus, those on Pro, Team, and Enterprise plans get priority support in the package — significantly reducing downtime and downtime on the site.

In WebWave we also have tutorials at our disposal. In addition, all users have the opportunity to take advantage of free chat support from 8 am to 24 hours. There is also a relatively fast response time for administrators to questions asked to them.

Offer for companies

WebWave has a business plan, enriched only with functions such as an online store or the sale of digital products. However, we will not find in it an offer tailored to the needs of large companies. Webflow has created a separate service Empresa dedicated to corporations, allowing them to manage and update the site more easily.

nearly 25% of all Webflow customers are mid-sized companies and corporations with more than 1,000 employees. For WebWave, the percentage of these clients is less than 5% − www.g2.com

The Enterprise offering in Webflow is an added convenience and a higher level of security for companies with a lot of peer sites and a huge amount of visitors. As part of this package, in addition to the standard Webflow features, you get:

  • the ability to manage multiple projects in one place;
  • non-standard SLAs, guaranteeing fast uptime and no downtime: for a corporation, even a minute site failure can lead to large financial losses;
  • advanced security protocols;
  • non-standard bandwidth: prepared for both high traffic on the site and its sudden jumps;
  • regular site audits;
  • setting up access for different people depending on the function they perform in the organization.

Corporations and fast-growing mid-sized companies that choose Webflow can scale their businesses in any way they want, updating, branching or changing their websites at lightning speed. Easy project management also ensures that a consistent project is delivered without downtime or problems, regardless of the stage of the work.

Just look at the biggest ones. Webflow has long been used by companies such as Dell, Philips and Upwork. And their sites work great, allowing companies to fully focus on growing and increasing marketing effectiveness.

WebWave, on the other hand, is a platform for very small and micro companies. As the creator Maciej Czajkowski himself says on the pages of the portal Business Insider, here's a quote:

While there are some large companies among our clients that use WebWave to create individual projects without the need for IT teams, we are primarily for small businesses.
Maciej Czajkowski
WebWave Founder

As he adds, his platform helps to a great extent single professionals such as freelancers or artists.

Webflow or WebWave - which will be better? summary

Webflow excels in functionality and reliability of operation, WebWave intrigues with continuous development and polish. However, one thing is certain - in Webflow you have much wider possibilities to create a website tailored to the needs of your company and its personality. Therefore, it is precisely on the giant that medium and large companies bet. With Webflow, you also have the guarantee that your website will grow with your business.

WebWave is an interesting alternative to Webflow. But in our opinion, it will work better only for small websites and simple online stores. We keep our fingers crossed for the dynamic development of this platform because it is undoubtedly a noticeable, Polish element of a rapidly growing market no-code development.
